The private equity client wanted to get an accurate assessment of the growth potential of their target business, an e-commerce company. That assessment was key for the firm to decide whether to acquire the business or not.

The engagement started with a strong focus on quantifying around 30 key e-commerce metrics to help the PE firm assess the company’s health.

In a second stage, the analytics became more strategically driven. Among others, a deep dive, which included some advanced predictive analytics, revealed the business’ main growth drivers, which gave a clear strategic pathway for the future.

Solution Implementation

Given that the business had never been analyzed before, the first part of the solution was to develop an extensive set of dashboards, with advanced visualizations. The dashboards allowed all the stakeholders to get a 360 view of the company.

In a second stage, a series of working sessions were organized to analyze the business in depth, with the support of the dashboards.

Results

With the analytics provided by Keenalytix to support its due diligence, the PE firm was able to make its decision while already having a deep knowledge of the target business.

Post-acquisition, it allowed the business’ new leadership team to develop its growth strategy based on data and facts.
